So, the back porch has been bugging since we bought the house. And the kids have requested that we clean it up so that they can play there in the mornings. I want to make it pretty, so the first thing I wanted to do was take the drywall off the ceiling.

This is what I got done. I am not going near electrical work so my handy husband will take care of that. It looks so much better already. It has added 6 inches of height, the room feels so much bigger. Also, I started to take off the tile.
It has been a long busy day… I will hopefully have it done by the end of the month, hopefully sooner.

Looks great, the exposed wood looks really nice, are you keeping it? I’m jealous and want to rip things apart lol maybe in 6 months!

Yeah, we are going to paint it. I was nervous because I didn’t know what was behind the drywall, but it feels more open. We don’t know if we are doing yellow like it already was or another color. I almost want to paint the beams brown and keep the yellow around. I am wondering what’s under the tile backing. But I didn’t work on it today.
