Still Learning

“Aunt Jahaira, he spit at me.” My niece said to me. “Go in time out.” I said to my son and he put his head down and sat down without a word. I asked her, “he  shouldn’t spit, but what did u do to make him that angry?” I asked her because my Big Guy is not one to hit, but he had spit at his brother when he had the last straw the other day. “She said nothing.”

Her mom asked my big guy “what happened?” He says, “we were jumping and spit came out of my mouth, I didn’t mean to.”

Right then and there I felt like the worst parent alive because I should have known better than to believe anything out of that kids mouth. It’s not the first time this has happened with her, not the 10th. In fact, I have seen her hit my son and come tell me he hit her when he did not.

So I apologized to him. But I couldn’t sleep. I just felt so guilty. I went into his room and kissed him. He woke up, I said “I am so sorry for not asking you what happened and putting you in time out.” He said “I don’t want to play with her anymore, she’s always being mean to me and gets me into trouble. I told her I was sorry and she said she was going to tell on me, but I didn’t mean to spit on her.”

I put my arms around him and said “I’m sorry baby, you don’t have to play with her if you don’t want to.” And he smiled and said “thank you” and fell asleep.

I held him for a while and went back to bed. I didn’t fall asleep until 5:30, I just felt so guilty. I woke up at 8:30, both boys, one each side wide awake, waiting for me to wake up. All I can think of is how lucky I am to have such sweet boys.

So I figured, I’d make it up to him and have a super fun day. I had the boys help me put load of clothes in the laundry, ate peanut butter sandwiches and went to buy HALLOWEEN COSTUMES!!!

They wanted to be Baymax and Hiro, but they didn’t have them at Party City, but the search was short.

“I have to have this” my big guy said. I guess I haven’t told you that he wants to be a Ninja when he grows up!

My little guy tried a Ninja suit, but he doesn’t like anything covering his mouth, so he ended up getting the Batman costume.

We had a surprise visit from daddy in his work uniform. So he didn’t miss the boys getting their costumes. He works the area and was able to stop in for a couple of minutes and it made the boys day.

Then we went to the zoo to trick or treat!

We met up with some cousins and had some fun! When we got home, daddy got dressed and we went to Buffalo Wild Wings. And let the boys order what they wanted and then went to Trader Joe’s! One of the workers was so nice! He gave the boys chocolate, then another one gave the boys bags and gave them stickers, coloring pages and candy.

Today, we went to a soup party where the kids wore their costumes and played together while we stuffed our faces and watched the football game! After that, we went to Grandma and Papa’s  house where we watched Rocky II and are still just hanging out.

I say, it has been a great two days! I just hope that I finally have learned my lesson and just talk and listen to my children because I should treat them the way I want to be treated!

Have a great night… I am going to eat.

Bon Appetite,
Jahaira

What a fun day!!!

Some of his cousins joined us.

  1. They look so cute in their costumes! Nice choices! We are doing woody and buzz this year. Logan keeps asking to wear his buzz but I’m making him wait until trick or treating cause I don’t want it to get ruined. After that I’m sure he will wear it every single day of his life lol

    • I already had to wash Batman, it got covered in chocolate! I figured, it’s October they can wear it out all month…lol they are loving it! After Halloween, when the costumes go on clearance, I buy more costumes for Christmas, so they have a trunk of costumes. All year they wear them around the house. Lol
